Hello, Bonjour, Guten Tag, Ni Hao, Salam.
Hello, Bonjour, Guten Tag, Ni Hao, Salam.
I’m Kian, and it’s nice to meet you.
Yes I speak five languages. Six if you count AI. Translating ideas into action is my superpower.
I grew up in beautiful California, and am blessed to have traveled to nearly 100 countries, constantly searching for the most innovative ideas and creative individuals around the world.
Truthfully, I’ve been on the road my entire life. My family fled war and came to America searching for peace, freedom, and stability. As a kid, I was constantly changing schools; it sucked. But it forced me to interact with all kinds of people, from all kinds of life; and that was good!
These childhood circumstances forced me to hustle, and pushed me out of my comfort zone, sometimes by choice, sometimes by fate. I guess what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger, right?
When given the choice between attending Harvard or moving to China for a year, I turned down Harvard because I thought I would learn more in the School of Hard Knocks. I was right: learning to be a foreigner in a land where I didn’t speak the language was a hugely valuable lesson in empathy and resilience. To my mother’s great relief, I eventually went to Harvard.

I’ve helped over 100 companies transform.
I’ve helped over 100 companies transform.
Ten years later, and after building a successful startup, I bought a one-way ticket to Africa in search of inspiration. Over six months, I trekked across 10 countries in a truck, and camped in a tent each night. The adventure was risky, but it taught me so much about human grace.
Returning to California, I set out to explore how emerging technologies could better our world. I joined the XPRIZE Foundation as an Executive Director, and built moonshots to solve big global challenges; and I started teaching AI and deep tech at Singularity University in Silicon Valley.
I quickly realized that to thrive in this new bionic era where humans and AI collaborate, we must focus on skills that give humans competitive advantage, like complex problem solving, creativity, empathy, and emotional intelligence. That’s why we must master both technology innovation and human behavior change.
My life of constant change has turned me into a master of reinvention. Just look at my ever evolving hairstyles – sorry, not sorry, I’m always A/B testing! And it’s why I love sharing my accumulated wisdom on innovation and creativity with audiences.
It’s why I’ve volunteered to teach at-risk kids to give them a leg up for the future. And it’s why I coach corporate teams to achieve peak performance.
We can’t change the entire world, but we can change someone’s entire world. So come join me on a journey of innovation and creativity, and together, we can make your impossible, possible!

I love to help audiences learn, feel, grow, and transform.
What gets me out of bed? Teaching. Inspiring. Translating big ideas.
I do this through my keynote talks and team coaching work, but I’m also a highly skilled conference host, emcee, moderator and facilitator at leadership offsites and board retreats.
To me, the medium doesn’t matter. It’s about how I can help the audience grow.
I’ve got this magic superpower to focus on the heart of a topic, and ask the most important questions to help an audience learn most effectively.
Growth and transformation. That’s the name of my game. Let’s play together!
